Welcome to the blogger of an absolute beginner...

Well, as a woman of a certain age setting up a business I have heard so much about the power of Social Marketing. I have even been to a seminar this week which made sense, well all except the acronyms. So I am going to give it a go.

I am a great people person and a great coach and if this is the way to tell you all about that...then I am up for moving out of my comfort zone just like a good coach should be. (The words great and technology will never appear in the same sentence for me though.)

We are of course assuming that I ever find this blog again.

Going for it!

Walker Wellbeing may well feel like a neglected child at the moment, or, maybe knowing me, a neglected family pet. It is so easy, once you get tied up in the world of employment, to forget that you have a business and one that you are VERY GOOD AT!

Somehow wierd that a confidence coach questions her own ability when she compares herself to other coaches out there but going back into the world of work has really boosted my self awareness...especially thanks to a couple of my senior managers who would so benefit from the things I share with people (were they aware enough to know they could do with it!!).

So, I am back out networking and very excited by the prospect that this can and will work. I know that now...it worked for me...did what it said on the tin!

Enjoy the sun. xxx

This week I have been haggling over a real dilemna, a situation many people out there would love to be in but one for me that has been really time consuming.I am a very decisive person, thanks to the personal development stuff I live and breathe. But, there is always the odd exception...

A few months ago I applied for a job on a whim. I was having a bad few weeks with the Red Cross and this job appeared on my radar. I was bowled over when I was offered the positition because I went through the interview process as a formality as life was back on track with BRC but then they were offering a significant amount of more money so I said yes, who wouldn't.

Ok, then something unexpected happened. BRC offered me the same to stay. So what do you do? I love my job on the day to day. I get to use my development skills with a great team of staff and volunteers as well as getting to sort my spare time to run WW too.

Now... the time has come to make a decision. Just another beer or two needed!

Have a good week.

Looking for a brighter future

This week has been very special to me because I have had the opportunity to work with a group of women who are fantastic. They are a support group for survivors of Breast Cancer who are looking at ways they can move on and make the most of the life they have now.

We ran through a number of topics including the power of the positive, assertiveness and confidence and how to take baby steps towards your own goals. Topics that are close to my own heart and have made a huge difference to my own life.

If I an share these tools with as many people as possible, I can really feel like I can make a difference which is what it is all about for me. Everyone deserves to live a confident, happy life and I enjoy sharing this message.

Let me share it with you!!
